As the summer heats up, some of us are seeing 100+ degree
days. Sunburn is exactly what it is called. It is the burning of the skin as a
result of direct light and heat of the sun. UV light causes blistering and even
permanent damage to the collagen. With sunburns moisturizing is very important
such as Aloe-Vera and Tylenol to relieve pain. But the key is to get out of the
sun.
You may not have known that one blistering sunburn you got
as a kid doubles your risk for certain types of skin cancer as you get older
such as melanoma. Sunscreen is not just for the beach. If you have particularly
sensitive skin you should perhaps wear sunscreen everyday you are exposed to
the sun.
There are some great natural remedies for sun burn if you
are particularly sensitive to certain types
of sunscreen. Some of us prefer the all natural remedies to the pricier over the counter brands. Keep in mind that when you skin actually begins to turn red that is the start of skin damage. Some of us may not know the classifications of our sunscreen mean. SPF-15 simply means that it takes 15 times as long for the rays of the sun to reach the skin beneath the treated area.

But having said all this, getting a little bit of sun every day
is healthy. All things in moderation and enjoy your summer from Autodidactic!
